The Wildschönau Ski Area:
The Wildschönau is a 24 km long high valley in the middle of the Kitzbühel Alps.
The rare 5 beautiful villages: Niederau, Oberau, Mühltal, Auffach and Thierbach make up the recreation area of the Wildschönau.
A total of three ski resorts are located in our ski arena, from 832m up to an altitude of 1903m, that is 70 km of skiing fun.
2 cable cars and 26 modern lifts including 5 conveyer belt ramps for the children's ski lessons.
The standard of the ski slopes and the friendliness of the people who care for you are just a few of the quality features.
The ski slopes of the Wildschönau are for all lovers of winter sports suitable.
Gentle slopes for beginners, wide slopes for amateurs and FIS competition courses for advanced skiers and experts.
Included in the 70 km ski runs are:
- 15 km of easy slopes for beginners (blue)
- 43 km for the medium - and advanced persons (red)
- 12 km difficult ski runs for experienced skiers (black)
The longest ski run is in Auffach on the Schatzberg, which is 7 km long. The ski pass is in the whole oft he Wildschönau valid. Between the skiareas is a free ski bus. www.schatzbergbahn.at
Skiing in our vicinity:
6 km from Niederau is Hopfgarten with the adjacent peak of the Hohe Salve mountain. Wildschönau is 25km from the famous Austrian resort of Kitzbühel.
The "Kützbühel Alpen skipass" (also valid in the Wildschönau) is valid for 359 lifts to 1081 km ski runs.

The Wildschönau is about 30 km away from Zillertal, after 50 km you reach first of the many Zillertal ski resorts. The Hintertux glacier is at the end of the Ziller Valley, and also reachable for a day trip. www.hintertuxergletscher.at
Hotel Alpenland - Location and ski lifts in the vicinity.
5 m from Hotel Alpenland is the draglift "Stenzerlift“. You can go directly with the ski to the door of the hotel. Also located 80 m from the hotel is the cable car to the Markbachjoch, and 100 m from the hotel is the chair lift to the Lahnerköpfel. From every ski-run you can reach our hotel.

Cross country skiing in Wildschönau:
All cross-country skiers will find 50 km cross-country trails with different difficulty levels.
Penning mountain trails network and Roggenbogen are about 18 km long.
The highest ski trail is located in Auffach and 7 km long.
In the Wildschönau you can also find three toboggan runs. (3.5 km).
